FAQ

  • How many patients have you had success with?

Our practice has very high patient return rate compared to the average. Our patients return to us because they trust in our expertise and trust us with their healthcare. Out of the patients that continue the course of treatments as prescribed, almost all notice improvement of their condition whether it is minor or major.

  • What's the average wait time if a patient wants an appointment ASAP?

We do our very best to fit our patients in as early as possible. We work diligently to be able to offer same day appointments if our schedule allows. We can usually offer a same week appointment at the latest.

  • What sets your practice apart from the others in your area?

We offer both acupuncture and chiropractic services. Many of our patients benefit from both, especially for pain and musculoskeletal conditions. Our acupuncturist and chiropractor have great expertise and experience providing care in the DMV area and have been working together for several years. And our location is perfect for everyone who has different ways of commuting. The office is very close (short walking distance) from the Metro Line and Bus Line. We also have free parking space available for those who drive.

  • How does your expertise in your field stand out?

We have diverse experience in patient care ranging from hospital setting, integrative medicine primary care setting, and private practice setting. We've pretty much done it all in terms of how widely spread an acupuncturist can participate in the healthcare world. Our acupuncturist is national board certified and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine which means she has done the extra coursework and internship hours and has taken all national board examinations required to be given this title. She has also traveled to China for clinical internship and studied acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University.

  • What is the average number of recommended visits?

Everyone responds differently to acupuncture and the prognosis all depends on the individual's constitution and the chronicity of the conditions. Typically, acupuncture patients will be asked to come in for treatment 1 to 2 times per week for 4 to 8 weeks. Typically, most acupuncture patients notice improvement from 6 to 8 treatments. The treatments could be longer if the condition is chronic and stubborn.

  • What results can your patients expect after their first few visit?

They can expect to feel some relief that can last from hours to days. They will feel a calming sensation right after acupuncture. And slowly, they will feel changes in their day-to-day life like improvement in sleep, mood, digestion, tension, etc. It's important to note that acupuncture has a cumulative effect. Each treatment builds on the last one and therefore it's important for our patients to stick with the treatment plan provided by the practitioner.
